So my Apple Watch sent me a notification.
All I need to do is increase my daily energy burn by 41%. Sure… no problem. Good think I am hiking this weekend at White Clay Creek State Park with our Boy Scout Troop. We are practicing “leave no trace camping” and the “BEAR-muda triangle”. Our hike will cover 15 miles in two days.
Looking forward to our summer trip to Philmont!

The other day I was looking for some new ideas for videos I make for my son’s Boy Scout troop, and I received an email from Pixel Film Studios about a new plug-in called ProFreez Comic for Final Cut Pro. Well the luck of the Irish was smiling down on me, everything was 25% off for St. Patrick’s Day! I ended up purchasing ProFreez Comic and ProFreeze Spatter.
So I created a test clip using a few selfies from my camping trips this year. I kept the clips at 5 seconds, changed the duration of the plug-in to just a few seconds, and saved to my Photo Library. Using my iPhone, I changed my Facebook profile to the video clips below ( I ended up keeping version 2). The music clip is not available in Facebook profiles.

Replacement Battery for iPhone 6S
Last week I found out my iPhone 6S was part of a group of phones manufactured between September – October 2015 with a faulty battery which caused the phone to shutoff. (iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues). My phone didn’t have that problem. Instead, the battery would drain quickly and I would need the charger around 2:00PM. I did remove some of the applications that might have drained the battery so quickly, and was planning on doing a reset of the phone during Christmas season. However, a free replacement battery is usually a good thing.
I made my appointment for last Saturday. The guy assigned to me from the Genius Bar ran diagnostics and asked some questions about my phone and why I thought the battery needed to be replaced. He told me my battery had a maximum capacity of 84% after 14 months of use. We verified the phone’s serial number and placed an order for a new battery. Now we wait…
